Tao Te Ching chapter 10

Can you coax your mind from its wandering

and keep to the original source (1)

Can you let your body become

supple as a newborn child's? (2)

Can you cleanse your inner vision

until you see nothing but light? (3)

Can you love people and lead them

without imposing your will? (4)

Can you deal with the most vital matters

by letting events take their course? (5)

Can you step back from your own mind

and thus understand all things? (6)

Deep concepts and wise words, no doubt.

Verse 1

Subduing the monkey mind and maintaining the pure awareness perspective of the "witness" is a moment to moment challenge that I have written about many times and that we have talked about in class many times. But once experienced you'll have a benchmark to relate to and can then strip away the layers of ego mind until you get back to your original self.

Verse 2

Advanced students... all I have to say is, song

Verse 3

My qigong teacher asked me one time what I saw when I meditated, I said "nothing". He asked if I saw light or dark. I replied "Light, I always see light." This Light is more than a shade (LMAO ROTFL). It is the eternal mind or Source of all that is. But to even get a taste of what I just wrote, you have to experience it.

Verse 4

A lesson for daily life and one that I play with at class all the time. Lead by example is a good cliche. This lesson also has to do with patience and acceptance.

Verse 5

Tough one for those "control freaks" out there. Once you can connect to Source and drop the ego then you have a chance to view the world from a different perspective. It is only from this "higher" perspectice can you see how everything is connected and that everything is exactly as it should be. Thus your feebly attempts to control are just your ego screaming and stomping around like a three year old. :)

Verse 6

see above :)

The Tao Te Ching is TRULY is great guide map for us on our journeys. I would recommend that all students read AND ABSORB as much of it as you possibly can.

Peace

Rod

PS - Thanks again Kelly!
