Cultivating Your Practice through the use of Wisdom

There is a huge difference between reading and learning and doing and learning.

Over my last decade of practice I have learned how to learn. I have distinguished what I believe to be my strengths and weaknesses and in moments of clarity I try to take full advantage of my strength of intellectual learning and my strength of manifesting that intellectual understanding into physical form. It is through this step by step process that I can understand and ingrain what I learn and keep it accessible for a reasonable amount of time. I have also learned that my "magic time" is one month. If I can focus on one lesson or one set for one continuous month then that lesson will be ingrained within my consciousness and I can pull it out of the "file" whenever I need it.

You as a student of Taijiquan, Qigong or any art, should also seek how it is that you learn most successfully and take advantage of that knowledge. Otherwise months will turn into years and years into decades without a hope of reaching your highest potential.

Wisdom, is the proper use of knowledge.
