Eight Brocade in the morning
04/07/2012 10:45I woke up this morning, my eyes popped open, I jumped out of bed and landed right into my jeans. I then ran downstairs to finish my Masters thesis before cleaning the entire house and cooking the entire family a hearty breakfast.... ya right!
Although I am an early riser, mornings for me usually consist of lots of yawns, stiff muscles and mindfog.
The best way I have found to wipe the slate clean and begin my day is by performing the Eight Brocade (Ba Duan Jin). This easy to learn qigong set has been used for centuries by martial artists as a form of calisthenics and martail warm up.
I have found that the Eight Brocade starts the blood flowing immediately which alleviates any bodily stifness and also clears my mind. Throughout the eight form set every part of my body is gently engaged and when I finish I am definately ready to go!
Only ten minutes to complete and my day is off to a great start!
Cheers
