Expansion and Contraction

Expansion and contraction is the way of the sensed universe.
From a seed a flower bursts forth, the tides flow in and out and humans inhale and exhale. This is the rule of rhythmic balanced interchange. What goes out must come back.
On a personal level, what you learn from an outside source must be digested internally (contraction) before you can repeat the process and share the lesson with others (expansion).
Tai chi forms are based on the same rule. We contract in the storage phase of each form so that we can expand and issue.
What we do need to pay special attention to is the zero "point" between expansion and contraction and contraction/expansion.
This zero “point” is the boundary of the wave expansion of the idea on the one “end” and the return to source at the opposite “end”.
We humans expand up to the point of maturity and then we contract inward digesting our life lessons and tapping into true knowledge.
Your tai chi practice is the same.
All in good time.
Peace
