June 5th class
06/06/2013 15:54I was teaching an intermediate student "grasp the sparrow's tail sequence" last night and it was interesting to hear her say - "it's like I'm learning it all over again".
This is what happens in tai chi. You get to a comfortable spot regarding your form technique and then you learn that you still have a long way to go. Everyone's practice is continuously evolving and there's always something new to learn. The lessons from the 40 will chage your 16, The lessons fom the 108 will change your 40. That's just the way it is. You can't learn algebra with understanding basic math either.
I had a little fun with Brian last night as well... ;-)
I got the attention of the advanced class when I got Brain to hold a big yoga ball and run right into a wall.
He bounced back about 6 feet, with a grin...
I said "that's a perfect example of peng".
There's no tai chi in the park this Sunday as we have Qigong instructor training scheduled. We'll pick it up a week from Sunday.
Peace
Rod
