Saber Practice

It is not enough to learn and repeat the forms.

True saber work includes energetically understanding and practicing the joining, neutralizing, controlling and advancement techniques within the forms. On top of that one should strive to gain working knowledge of the twenty-five basic techniques that are performed using the saber.

After learning and becoming somewhat proficient with the basic techniques, one can start partner practice and learn to work with another’s energy and all the complexity of that process.

When you finally get the feel of how the saber works against an opponent then you must transfer that energy into your form. Only through the transfer of understanding, knowledge and energy into your forms will you move towards mastery.
