Some students do not like the idea

Some students do not like the idea of learning the martial applications within Taiji for various reasons but I make it a point to put that part of the teaching into every class in hopes that any student with reservations will come around in time. So I was pleased to hear from students last night that they can now appreciate the benefits of understanding the open hand forms from an application point of view. We'll be digging deep into the applications in the next few months as K gets ready for her assessment ;-)

Another student also mentioned to me about how much he has changed over the two years that he has trained with me. He related that his mind has opened up quite a bit and he sees the world from a different perspective. This seems very interesting to him because now he can clearly see how regimented and tunnel like his workplace is. I confirmed with him that this is par for the course when one's consciousness begins to "rise". I use the term "rise" because it is like you gain a higher vantage point and can see the layout of the land more clearly as you go higher and higher. People and situations become easier to understand and deal with as you can appreciate where they are coming from without having to become engrossed in their reality.

On another note, I have been asked if I'd like to participate in a Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi level III seminar. Is anyone interested in continuing along the shibashi curriculum? Or are the two sets we currently do enough?

I have been fielding emails from people interested in our October Qigong seminar. A few people have registered from as far away as Pennsilvania. I hope we have a varied turnout as diverse perspectives make for interesting learning.

Peace

Rod
